ERPM Golfers shine in Ekurhuleni Senior Women's Golf Championship on Home Course
More than 50 players participated in the Ekurhuleni Senior Women's Championship held at ERPM Golf Club on Tuesday, 2 February 2016. Playing off an 8 handicap Marie-Louise du Plessis of ERPM scored an impressive gross total of 77 to win the championship trophy. A worthy runner-up was Barbara Collet also of ERPM scoring 83.
The B-Division champion is Tony Reyneke from Reading Golf Club with an excellent score of 40 points followed closely by Beryl Barry of Glendower on 39 points. The various age divisions were also very closely contested.
The Championship was sponsored by Martie Becker of Schaldor Plastics with superb prizes for the winners. Her continued sponsorship is highly appreciated. Thank you Martie . New trophies for the champions of Ekurhuleni were donated by Martie Becker (A Division) and Veronica Tredoux (B Division) in memory of Peter O'Hare. The Senior ladies also fondly remembered two members who lost the fight against cancer in 2015, namely Gerrie Gerber (State Mines) and Rua Smith (Germiston).

The Championship was followed by the ESWG AGM and the Committee for 2016 will remain as is: Veronica Tredoux (President/Sec Benoni Lake), Janet Roets (Vice President Nigel GC); Marie Victor (Treasurer, Benoni Lake); Donita Littleford and Cheryl Lindsay both of the Benoni Lake Club.
The SA Senior Women's Nationals will take place from 15 – 18 May at Boschenmeer in Paarl and Pearl Valley CC and a team of 12 golfers will be representing Ekurhuleni.
