The last day of the Tournament found us wanting, we played against Guateng North, that were extremely determined to win, as well as Southern Cape eager to improve their log standing. The games proved to be very tough and unfortunately we were beaten in both matches, losing to Gauteng North 9 ½ to 2 ½ and losing to Souther Cape 7 to 5

The team fought very hard as the best we could do was a third place and the worst fouth place, we ended fouth behind the winners Central Gauteng, Western Province and Gauteng North.

The Super Seniors finished a credible third on the log, losing out by games count for second place.

Well done to all the team members.

The team is very grateful to the Union for the opportunity to represent the province and for the most impressive kit.

An interesting day today, the Seniors team was rearing to go for the titanic match against the log leader Weatern Provice. The foursomes in the morning was a great battle, however we found ouselve wanting with a 2 ½ to 1 ½ loss.

The afternoon match needed us to win 5 of the 8 games, 6 of the games came down to the last hole and unfortunately we lost 9 games to 3 game.

The team performed extremely well, however the seasoned Western Province side were just too good for us.

The Super Seniors had a good day today against KwaZulu Natal, the morning foursomes finished 1 all and the afternoon had all to play for. The match ended in a 3 all draw. They perfomed very well, however the half game needed to win was just out of reach.

Tomorrow brings the final matches, the Seniors are up against Gauteng North and Southern Cape and the Suoer seniors are against Central Guateng and Southern Cape.

The day ends with the closing prizegiving and dinner and we depart for home at the conclusion of the function.

Our thanks go to the Ekurhuleni Golf Union for the privelege to represent our golf union, we are thankful for all the kit provided and we were proud to be so well dressed.

A much better day for the seniors, unfortunately not a very good day for the Super Seniors.

The seniors beat KwaZulu Natal 7 and 5 and beat North West 10 and 2. The morning foursomes proved to be valuable by beating KwaZulu Natal 3 and 1 and beating North West 4 nil, this set up a good platform to take the side into the afternoon.

The Super Seniors were less fortunate this morning losing to Western Province 2 nil in the foursomes and at the end of the day succumbing to Western Province 5 to 1.

Tomorrow the seniors take on Western Province, the log leaders with 2 points more than us. This match will prove very important to the seniors, and the entire team is looking forward to the challenge.

The Super seniors are up against KwaZulu Natal and are looking forward to getting back to winning ways.

Tuesday, 12 April 2016

Our first day of the tournament, and what a day it turned out to be.

Our Super Seniors had a spectacular win over our neighbours Gauteng North, winning the match 5 ½ to2 ½. In doing this the team is top of their log. Tomorrow brings a match with Western Province, the team is looking forward to the encounter.

The seniors faced Central Gauteng and as usual this was an enormous game, the foursomes proved to be quite a match with 3 of the games being won by Central Gauteng, one up on the last hole. At the end of the day Central Gauteng prevailed with an 8 to 4 win. Ekurhuleni Seniors are placed 3rd on the log.

The match against Eastern Province proved to be quite a match with a 2 all foursomes outcome and an eventual win by our team of 6 ½ to 5 ½

The seniors are up against Kwa Zulu Natal and North West tomorrow.
